Seller Guide
This guide helps you classify your items correctly so renters can find exactly what they need. Proper classification means more visibility and more bookings.
Understanding Listing Roles
Every item plays a role in an event setup. Choosing the right role helps renters find centerpiece items easily while discovering complementary pieces along the way.
Anchor
The centerpiece — the item renters search for by name.
Examples:
- Children's porcelain tea party set
- Dessert display stand
- Cocktail bar cart
- Farmhouse table
- Balloon arch kit
If a renter would search for this item by name, it's an Anchor.
Supporting
Items that complete the setup — they complement an anchor.
Examples:
- Chairs (for a table)
- Linen table runner
- Glassware set (for a bar cart)
- Tiered cake plates
Ask: "Would renters want this alongside another main item?"
Extra
Small add-ons that enhance the look or function.
Examples:
- Place cards
- Candle holders
- Serving tongs
- Napkin rings
Extras are things renters add on at the last minute to polish the setup.
Choosing an Event Category
Pick the one event type your item is primarily designed for. This drives how renters browse by event. If your item suits multiple events equally, choose the one where it gets rented most.
| Item | Best Category | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Porcelain tea set | Children's Birthday Party | Most renters want it for kids' tea parties |
| Champagne tower | Cocktail Hour & Celebration | Designed for cocktail and celebration events |
| Diaper cake stand | Baby Shower | Specific to baby shower events |
| Elegant tablecloth set | Dinner Party | Most commonly rented for dinner parties |
| Flower arch frame | Wedding Events | Primarily used at weddings and ceremonies |
Tagging for Occasions
Unlike the event category (one per item), occasion tags are multi-select. Tag every event type where your item could realistically be used. This expands your reach when renters browse with the "All related items" toggle.
Example: Gold charger plates
- Event Category: Wedding Events
- Occasion Tags: Wedding, Anniversary, Dinner Party, Gala, Engagement Party
The chargers are primarily for weddings, but they work at any formal event. Tagging all relevant occasions means renters browsing "Dinner Party" items can still find them.
Tips for Titles & Photos
Writing a Great Title
- Be specific: "Children's Porcelain Tea Party Set (12-piece)" instead of "Tea Party Set"
- Include material/style: "Rustic Wooden Cake Stand" instead of "Cake Stand"
- Skip filler words: No need for "Beautiful" or "Amazing" — let photos do the talking
- Mention quantity if relevant: "Set of 8 Gold Charger Plates"
Photo Guidelines
- First photo: Clean shot of the item on a neutral background
- Second photo: Item styled in an event setting
- Show scale: Include something for size reference if the item is unusually large or small
- Natural light: Avoid harsh flash — shoot near a window
